Quinta do Lago was established in 1972 and comprises around 2,000 hectares of green land, with pine trees and several lakes between the town of Almancil and the Atlantic Ocean.
It is adjacent to the nature reserve of Ria Formosa. Through a strict limitation of the building footprint to 8%, it has many green areas and a park-like character. Quinta do Lago is without doubt one of the most inspiring and most exclusive resorts in Europe and has some of the most spectacular and distinctive villas in the Algarve. In addition, there are more than two miles of white sandy beaches. At the lake, the water sports center has sailboats, wind surfing and paddle boats that can be rented.
